25th Anniversary Year

Church Tours & Excursion to Lincoln Cathedral 2008

The Church Tours Programme for our 25th Anniversary year is completed and we will be making visits to all the corners of the county.

If you would like a poster to see or print off a list of all the tours please click here.  Please pass this information on to your friends and fellow church enthusiasts.  If you would like a booking form and details of the joint trip to Lincoln Cathedral  with Revd. Dr. Lynne Broughton and the Cambridgeshire Association for Local History on 26th July please click here

This year we will once again have our two expert guides to enhance our Sunday afternoon visits.  They are our long serving and always full of information, Revd. Dr Lynne Broughton, who is an expert on church furnishing and symbolism, and once again this year she is joined by Dr. John Maddison, is an invaluable expert in church history and architecture.

All Tours start at 2.30 pm at the first church, and end with Tea at the last named church, which will be followed by a short Service of Evensong for any who wish to stay on.

Listed below are the dates and the churches we are going to visit in 2008.  You can find a map by going to link to A Church Near You website and the 'maps' can be found on the left hand-side of the webpage as you scroll down the page or by clicking on 'about our parish'

After we have visited the churches you will be able to find a selection of photographs taken at the churches by clicking on the parish name.

Once the churches have been visited you will be able to see a collection of the photographs taken by clicking here

Each church dedication has been linked to various website's that will provide you with some background information, this will vary depending on what is available online, if there is any additional information available this will follow the dedication and will be marked add. info.

Note: For the trips that pick up in both Cambridge & Ely

Please do not forget to tell us on the booking form where you would like to be picked up from.

The Trip to Lincoln is a joint trip with the Cambridgeshire Association for Local History creating a new tradition that could continue on into years to come.

Please note: as the price of Diesel Fuel has gone up so dramatically, it has vastly increased the cost of hiring coaches.  The best way to cater for this is for as many of you as can to come on the visits and fill every seat on the coach.  However, if the numbers mean that the trips are unviable, it will be cancelled and people that have booked will receive a full refund.  Friends and family are more than welcome.
