About WREN

Waste Recycling Environmental Limited (WREN) was established in 1997. WREN is a company limited by guarantee and a non-profit making Environmental Body (EB) registered to fund projects which are “eligible” under the Landfill Communities Fund Grant Scheme.

WREN receives the majority of its funding from its parent company - the Waste Recycling Group under the terms of this Scheme. It allows landfill operators to obtain company tax benefits in return for distributing a percentage of their profits for environmental purposes.

The WREN Grant Scheme offers funding of between £2,000 and £50,000 to projects which fall within WREN policy and the Landfill Communities Fund Grant Scheme.

Most of the funds received by the Trust have come from WREN, whose parent company operates several sites in the county.

For more information see the WREN website: http://www.wren.org.ukThis website shows you which areas WREN operates in and give examples of the type of projects WREN can fund.
